Midsummer, Risor

Midsummer night is celebrated in Risor, Norway by lighting a multi-storey-high bonfire on one of the many granite islands in the mouth of the harbour, surrounded by groups of locals feasting on shrimp and aquavit. The night sky barely darkens before lighting up the new day.
